Spot Trailer

This is the spot trailer for our film. We watched a few spot trailers before to see the conventions of it compared to full length trailers and there seemed to be more titles and writing than action. We planned to have 5 scenes/locations, however this was hard to get with our actors as it was not as planned so we tried to achieve a few different locations with establishing shots such as one of the house and one of the park. I like that these were a nice background for the text rather than just having a screen of colour, however I still think that we could have included more of a variety of location with the actors between the bits of text. I really liked the camcorder footage we managed to achieve that we put at the start and end of the trailers, and when showing it to some other people in our class, they understood that the girls in this clip were the girls on the swings and the main characters. They also got the message that the girls were best friends, and that they were somehow going to be split up such as one moves or they go to different schools or one dies etc. I liked that we managed to convey a very basic plot and did not give too much away. My only concern with this though is that we did not give enough detail about a narrative to entice audiences, because if they do not know what it is about then they will not know if they want to watch it or not.

A typical target audience for our film would be girls aged 13 - 19. They have close friends with other girls and would want to go see this film with them as it is a typical 'chick flick'. They have an emotional reaction to films and therefore would have an emotional response to ours.
