Character Ideas

Ava:
Age 17, she is confident girl but also a bit of a trouble maker. She has a bright and positive personality which gives her a visible radiance and everyone can see that she is special. When she was little she had cancer, and recovering from it made her the strong person she is today, so when she gets it again everyone expects her to push through however she becomes weak and depressed instead.

Izzy:
Age 16, Ava's best friend since they were toddlers. She is shy and introvert, but can openly express herself with Ava as they know each other best. She finds it hard to get to know other people because she will not be the one to talk first, unlike Ava. When Ava is ill and stops coming to school, Izzy becomes down because she does not have any other friends to talk to, and therefore confides in Jack (Ava's brother) as he is the next closest thing to her. They begin a romance.

Jack:
Age 18, Ava's brother. He is the cool teen heartthrob at school and has a reputation for being a trouble maker like his sister. Although he is close to Izzy, he does not want to be associated with her at first when she is alone at school due to their difference in social status, but soon after he gets a soft spot for her and they start a romance. Ava's illness affects Jack greatly at school as he rebels more, has a lower mood and his grades get worse.
